A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. It's not quite the holiday season in Baltimore County until the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The traditional event, which will be held at Olympian Park in the downtown Towson shopping district, starts at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1, according to a news release from the Towson Chamber of Commerce. The family celebration—hosted by the chamber, Baltimore County Council and County Executive Kevin Kamenetz— will include free hot chocolate and cookies and holiday musical performances. The Perry Hall Middle School eighth grade choir, Chapel Hill Music Sensations and the Anna Apicella School of Dance are among the featured acts. The actual tree lighting is scheduled for approximately 6:30 p.m., the release states. Afterwards, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in style on a fire engine. Parents can bring their own cameras and take pictures of their children with Santa at his workshop, located 1 E. Joppa Road. Donations will also be collected for the Baltimore County Holiday Toy Drive.
