TOWSON, MD — Towson and Morgan State announced Sunday that they had extended the Battle for Greater Baltimore football series through the 2027 season.

The local NCAA Football Championship Subdivision programs were scheduled to meet last season at Towson's Johnny Unitas Stadium in the first of a home-and-home series, but both teams had their season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The programs are still scheduled to play the second of the original home-and-home series this coming Sept. 4 at Morgan State's Hughes Stadium. But now the meeting between the Tigers and Bears will be an annual event, at least through 2027, with each program playing host every other year.
