A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Baltimore Gas and Electric officials announced Saturday that several hundred thousand outages are expected as a result of Hurricane Sandy. The outages could last several days, according to a news release from the utilities company. About 1,300 of the recruited are scheduled to arrive Sunday, ahead of the storms, the release said. The remainder is expected to arrive throughout the week. The workers are setting up at bases across the state including BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, M&amp;T Bank Stadium, Timonium Fairgrounds and Ripken Stadium. ComEd, BGE's sister company based in Chicago, is also assisting with preparation and restoration efforts. BGE officials urge residents to call 1-877-778-2222 to report outages or downed wires.
