A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Baltimore Gas &amp; Electric officials will answer questions about the utilities company's performance during the severe summer thunderstorms, for which it faced criticsm. At Thursday's Greater Towson Council of Community Associations meeting, the officials will also address concerns about the company's plan to increase rates and power issues.  In an email, Councilman David Marks urged residents to get their questions to their neighborhood representatives serving on the GTCCA. The list of members can be found on the <a href="http://gtcca.org/members.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">community group's website. </a> The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. at Pickersgill Retirement Community.
