A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A 15-year-old boy was attacked by robbers after they stole his phone. According to a Baltimore County police report,  the boy gave the robbers his phone, valued at $200, near the 6800 block of McClean Boulevard on Tuesday night. Police said that on Nov. 6, the robbers and boy then walked near Hillsway Avenue and Perring Parkway, where the robbers—described as men in their twenties—struck the boy twice in the face. The robbers fled on Sindall Road, the report reads. It's unclear from the report whether the boy was coerced into giving up his phone or into walking to the second location. The police department's office of communications is closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day. No further information is available.
