Burglary Suspect Accused Of Stealing From Baltimore County Homes: Reports

A burglary suspect was accused of stealing thousands of dollars' worth of property from Baltimore County homes, reports said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A man was accused this week of committing several burglaries and stealing thousands of dollars' worth of property in Baltimore County.

Police announced Monday that they arrested Raymond Byrd, 64, in connection with the burglaries that have happened in the Towson, Parkville and White Marsh areas since August.

Court documents obtained by WJZ allege that Byrd stole over $44,000 worth of property and caused roughly $7,200 in damage to doors, windows and security systems.

Police said they recovered about $17,200 worth of stolen goods after Byrd sold jewelry to pawn shops using his Maryland driver's license during the transactions, WJZ reported.

Detectives said they linked Byrd to at least six cases that were part of this "CAT burglary trend."

Online court records show that Byrd, a Baltimore resident, faces nine felony charges of burglary and theft. The file also says he's up against 14 misdemeanor charges.

Judge Krystin J. Richardson on Monday ordered Byrd to be held without bail until his trial, the records say.

Byrd is represented by the Office of the Public Defender. Patch contacted the public defender's office for a comment. We will update this story if we hear back.
