Catonsville Shooting Under Investigation, Reward Offered: Police

A shooting is under investigation in Baltimore County, police said. One man was hospitalized. A $2,000 reward was offered for tips.

CATONSVILLE, MD — A Catonsville shooting is under investigation, police said.

Officers assigned to the Wilkens Precinct said they were called Friday around 4:40 p.m. to the intersection of Wesley and Shipley avenues. That's located in a residential neighborhood near the Banneker Community Center.

Authorities said they found evidence of a shooting, but there was no victim at the scene.

Police said they later learned of a man seeking treatment for a gunshot wound at a hospital. He is expected to survive.

Officers did not mention any leads on a potential suspect.

The Baltimore County Police Department asked anybody with information to call 410-887-INFO (410-887-4636). Callers can stay anonymous. Tipsters can also submit information through the county's iWATCH program at iwatch.baltimorecountymd.gov.

The Metro Crime Stoppers, an independent investigator, is also collecting anonymous tips and sharing them with officers. The Metro Crime Stoppers offered a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest on felony charges.

  • Calling 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587).
  • Using the P3 Tips mobile application.
  • Texting CRIMES (274637), then entering the message starting with "MCS."
