City Water Crews Investigate Leak

Residents said the mysterious stream at York Road and Stevenson Lane has been going on for the past year.

Baltimore City water crews are trying to locate the source of a mysterious flow of water at a Towson intersection.

For more than a year, residents and drivers around York Road and Stevenson Lane have had to put up with anywhere from a trickle to a stream of water starting on the north side of the intersection and moving downhill to the west. On cold days, it's even been ice, posing a hazard to drivers.

Residents at the Greater Towson Council of Community Associations meeting last week said the leak had been going on for at least a year. Baltimore County Councilman David Marks said he asked Baltimore City's department of public works, which manages the water system, to look into it.
