Iconic Seafood Restaurant Opens 2nd Location In Memory Of Dad
A popular seafood restaurant is opening a second location in Baltimore County. The owners dedicated the opening to their late father.

TIMONIUM, MD — Dundalk-based Costas Inn opened its second location this week.
The popular seafood restaurant debuted Monday in Timonium. Its iconic crab cakes are now available at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.
"Today, a dream becomes reality," the eatery said Monday on Facebook. "After 54 years at Costas Inn, we're proud, emotional, and beyond honored to officially open our second location — Costas Inn Timonium at the Timonium Fairgrounds."

This January, Costas Inn announced its plans to expand.
Restaurant founder Costas Triantafilos died this March at age 85, however. Multiple news outlets reported that he died from elevated carbon monoxide levels at his Glen Arm home.

The Greek immigrant opened his restaurant in 1971.

The restaurateur "had a deep love for horse racing," his obituary said.
His first victory as a thoroughbred owner came in 1985, when his horse, Blue Carrot, won a race at Penn National. He was named "Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen's Owner of the Year" in 1999.
This passion for racing may explain Costas Inn's opening at the grandstand of the Timonium horse track.
"This was our dad's vision, and though he's no longer physically with us, we feel him in every moment," Costas Inn said on Facebook. "It's been just over two months since he passed, but we know he's guiding us, sending signs, and watching over this next chapter."
The Timonium restaurant seats dozens across its bar, high-tops and tables. It will serve the usual Costas Inn favorites, except steamed crabs, which will only be available at the flagship location in Dundalk.
Costas Inn is now run by brothers Pete Triantafilos, the chief operating officer, and Nick Triantafilos, the director of communications and strategic planning.
"We open today in loving memory of our father, Costas Triantafilos, and our beautiful mom, Mrs. Mary," the eatery said. "We're ready. We're emotional. And we're grateful."
Reservations are available by dialing (667)-406-1975.
"Come visit us. Come celebrate with us," Costas Inn said.
