A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Elected and school officials from Baltimore County will descend upon Annapolis Wednesday with others from around the state to press for money for school construction and renovation projects. The county plans to press for nearly during the annual event often referred to as "beg-a-thon." "We're going to send a really strong message that if we were to get $70 million that we're willing to step up and provide whatever local matching funds are necessary," said <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?keywords=Don+Mohler" rel="nofollow">Don Mohler</a>, County Executive <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?keywords=Kevin+Kamenetz" rel="nofollow">Kevin Kamenetz's</a> chief of staff and spokesman. Baltimore County has the second oldest school stock in the state but receiving full funding for the annual list of projects is unlikely. Gov. <a href="https://northbaltimore.patch.com/search?keywords=Martin+O%27Malley" rel="nofollow">Martin O'Malley</a> said earlier this month he hopes to provide more than $370 million into school construction funding in the next budget year. for the budget year that begins July 1. Last year, the county received a total of $32 million. Baltimore County is scheduled to make their pitch to the Board of Public Works at 2 p.m.
