County Resurfacing More Than 12 Miles of Towson Roads by Late 2014

More than 12 miles of Towson roads will be resurfaced by late 2014, Councilman David Marks announced Tuesday.

Baltimore County crews will resurface the following roads, according to an email from the Perry Hall Republican, who represents Towson:

Rodgers Forge

Blenheim, Dorking, Dumbarton, Dunkirk, Gaywood, Glen Argyle, Heathfield, Hopkins, Midhurst, Overbrook and Pinehurst roads, and Regestester Avenue. Glen Argyle and Heathfield roads, and Regester Avenue will be resurfaced first and the other streets will have upgrades to their sewer lines.

West Towson

Burnbrae Road, Park Avenue, Woodbine Terrace and Debaugh Avenue. After water or gas upgrades, Debaugh Avenue, Central Avenue and Highland Avenue will be resurfaced.

Towson Manor Village

Linden Terrace, Linden Avenue, Susquehanna Avenue and Willow Avenue.

Edgewood Road

Marks also reports that "three of our busiest corridors"—the 1.5 mile stretch of Stevenson Lane from Hillen Road to York Road, the one-mile stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue between Railroad Avenue in east Towson and Highland Avenue in West Towson and Susquehanna Avenue in the commercial core—will be resurfaced. 

"The schedule for this resurfacing will depend on other projects throughout the county, as well as the weather, but it is a sizable investment in the Towson area," Marks wrote. "I know there are communities such as Idlewylde and Stoneleigh that also have road issues and have asked the Department of Public Works to add these to their resurfacing list as soon as possible."

Marks said between 2012 and 2014, Baltimore County will have invested more than $3.6 million in 5th district road projects.

"Neighborhood leaders have made it clear that they want Towson's roads improved, and I plan to keep working for more resources for Towson," he said.
