A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in the Cedarcroft neighborhood Tuesday night. The victim, a driver for China Wok, was called to a home in the 400 block of Schwartz Avenue around 10:57 p.m. Mar. 5, according to a police report. When the driver arrived, a person at the home told him that no food had been ordered. As the driver was leaving, the robbers called out to him that they had ordered food, the report states. Once the driver was nearby, he was robbed of the chinese food and cash at gunpoint, according to the report. Police described the robbers as a black man, approximately 5-foot-10 tall with braids; a 6-foot-2 black man and a white man wearing a red Adidas hoodie with white stripes. Another white male, and a black female were seen nearby previous to the robbery and are believed to have been involved, the report states.
