To help you keep your family protected, here's a list of registered sex offenders in Towson.

After talking to our children all year about being safe and not talking to strangers, there's one day each year we send them out onto the streets and tell them to knock on strangers' doors.

Halloween is upon us, and Patch wants to help everyone stay safe.

So we've created this gallery of registered sex offenders listed on the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services website, so you can choose whose door to knock on and whose not to — especially if your family is trick-or-treating in a new neighborhood, with friends or at Grandma's.

The state department website warns against unlawfully injuring, harrassing or committing a crime against the offenders.

Baltimore County police are also on alert.

According to the police department's website, officers will be monitoring select registered sex offenders across the county on Halloween night to ensure they don't violate their probation requirement of "no contact" with children.

Police said these offenders have been ordered to not answer the door, not hand out candy and to display "no candy" signs on the front of their residence.
