First responders said they found heavy fire when they arrived at the two-story, single-family home.

The call was upgraded to a rescue after reports that a man may have still been inside, units said.

Firefighters said they entered the home and found the man on the first floor in cardiac arrest.

Medics gave him life-saving care and took him to a hospital, where officials said he was pronounced dead.

Crews said they contained the fire around 3 a.m.
