A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Darick Joyce has been skateboarding around Towson for two years, but never this early in the year. "This is really nice," he said, after doing a <a href="http://video.about.com/skateboard/How-to-Tre-Flip.htm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">tre flip</a> over steps on Chesapeake Avenue. I found the 15-year-old from Southland Hills doing tricks off the steps outside the records office of . The Towson High School freshman said it was one of his most common skateboarding destinations in town. Though few on the street Tuesday were as daring as Joyce, many took advantage of the lovely weather by dining outside. Accuweather says to expect the highs to stay in the 50s and 60s for <a href="http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/towson-md/21286/daily-weather-forecast/333550" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">much of the next week or so</a>. However, we may see some rain on Wednesday and Saturday, and temperatures could dip down into the 40s next Sunday and Monday. What have you been doing with the early spring weather?
