Hillendale Woman Killed, Struck By Car on Crosswalk

The accident occurred early Tuesday morning at Loch Raven and Deanwood Road.

A Hillendale woman was killed after she was reportedly struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning.

Renee Else Thomas, 78, of the 6600 block of Wycombe Way was pronounced dead at the scene near the intersection of Loch Raven Boulevard and Deanwood Road, said Louise Rogers-Feher, a Baltimore County Police spokeswoman.

At around 5:39 a.m., a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by Sandra Lee Beck, 50, of the 6600 block of Loch Hill Road, was traveling northbound on Loch Raven Boulevard, Rogers-Feher said. Beck's Sentra hit Thomas as she was walking along a crosswallk near the Parkville intersection.

Beck had the green light, according to Rogers-Feher.

Police have ruled the accident was the result of pedestrian error.
