Motorists can expect temporary overnight single- and double-lane closures on the Jones Falls Expressway between the bridge over the Baltimore Light Rail tracks near the Baltimore City/County line and the I-83 bridge over Old Pimlico Road. Lane closures may be in effect at any time Sundays through Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. while contractor crews patch sections of asphalt pavement.

The I-83 pavement patching work is part of a State Highway Administration contract to improve pavement on Interstate highways within Baltimore County. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium, will also use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorcyclists are urged to be aware of uneven pavement surfaces during the pavement resurfacing work. The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
