KINGSVILLE, MD — A small bridge was shut down Friday for emergency repairs in Kingsville.

The bridge is on Reynolds Road and crosses an unnamed tributary to the Little Gunpowder Falls.

The Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation found the damage Thursday afternoon during a random inspection.

"The condition of the bridge risks compromising its structural integrity leading DPWT to close the road for the safety of the public," the DPWT said in a Friday press release. "The closure will remain in place until emergency repairs can be completed to rehabilitate the bridge."

A detour is in place on Bradshaw Road to the west and Franklinville Road to the north. Residents who live on Reynolds Road can still access their properties.
