Labor Day 2019: What's Closed In Baltimore County

Government offices, libraries, courts and landfills will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, in recognition of Labor Day.

TOWSON, MD — Don't put any quarters in the parking meters in Baltimore County on Monday, Sept. 2. The county is shutting down all of the meters in observance of Labor Day.

The same goes for courts and government offices. Here's a list of other facilities closed for Labor Day:

  • Health Department
  • senior centers
  • landfills and drop-off centers
  • Baltimore County Public Library branches

In addition, the collection of trash and recycling items will not take place.

CountyRide, which provides specialized transportation for residents 60 or older, persons with disabilities and rural residents, will not operate on Monday.

The Baltimore County 911 Communications Center, police and fire departments will be fully staffed for 24 hours on Monday, just like every other day of the year. For emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 410-887-2222.

The county's government offices will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday. The Baltimore County Public Schools will open their doors Tuesday to begin the 2019-'20 school year.
