WOODLAWN, MD — A Baltimore mother spun her way to $100,000 on a new scratch-off bought in Woodlawn.

The anonymous victor will use the money to travel. She plans to fly on an airplane for the first time to visit Las Vegas for a birthday celebration. She also wants to take her kids on a cruise and to a waterpark for their first family vacations.

"This came at the perfect time," the health care worker said when she visited lottery headquarters on May 6.

The win came on a new game called The Big Spin, which debuted in April.

"I always play the new ones," the winner said in a press release.

The $5 game has three $50,000 prizes that players can win instantly. Players who reveal a "Spin" symbol can scan their ticket at a Lottery retailer or on the lottery app. Most "Spin" prizes lead to a cash payout of $10 to $250. Eight "Spin" winners will get a chance to spin a 75-inch-tall, gameshow-style wheel at lottery headquarters to score a prize of $50,000 to $250,000.

The vacationer was the first player to spin the giant wheel. She and her fiancé closed their eyes after giving it a gentle whirl.

"When I heard the last click, that's when I opened my eyes," the victor said.

She couldn't believe her prize.

"I'm still shocked," the winner said. "I've been playing for so long and I was tired of reading people's stories about buying a loaf of bread and one scratch-off and winning a top prize. I was waiting for my turn."

The lottery regular bought her ticket the week prior at Kiani's Mart, located in Woodlawn at 1110 Ingleside Ave. After scratching and scanning her ticket, she scheduled a visit to spin the wheel at lottery headquarters.

Nerves built while waiting for her appointment. She kept checking her hiding spot to make sure the ticket was safe.

"I couldn't sleep over the weekend," the woman said.

Kiani's Mart will get a $1,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

There are still seven scratch-offs remaining that will earn a trip to spin the wheel. All three $50,000 instant prizes also remain.
