Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Human Trafficking

Bennie Veasey, 35, was convicted in September for bringing teenagers to work as prostitutes at a Baltimore County hotel.

Bennie Veasey, 35, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on human trafficking charges in Baltimore County Circuit Court by Judge Mickey Norman on Monday.

He was convicted in September of bringing a 19-year-old woman to Baltimore County, and forcing her to work as a prostitute to help pay legal bills stemming from rape charges in Cleveland.

Veasey was charged after the woman was arrested in a sting in April. During an interview, police determined that she was coerced into becoming a prostitute.
