TOWSON, MD — A Baltimore County restaurateur opened a new Chick-fil-A Tuesday in Towson, creating about 115 full- and part-time jobs.

Natalie Martz is the independent owner-operator of the franchise, located in a stand-alone building at Towson Place. It is Towson's first Chick-fil-A with a drive-thru. Dine-in and carryout are also available. The eatery will deliver through Chick-fil-A Delivery beginning Friday.

Martz joined Chick-fil-A in 2013 when she became the owner-operator of the chicken restaurant at Towson Town Center. She has since transitioned away from the Town Center location and now only runs the Towson Place eatery.

“My vision for the new restaurant is for all of our Team Members and Guests to feel valued and cared for,” Martz said in an Oct. 23 press release. “This community means so much to me, and I am grateful to serve both new and existing Guests at our new, free-standing restaurant in Towson. I am excited to continue serving alongside my incredible team, and I’m also excited to welcome many new Team Members and grow our positive influence in the community.”

The new location will redirect surplus food to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program. This effort has created more than 30 million meals from over 2,200 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Chick-fil-A also donated $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the grand opening. The money will be distributed to partners in the Baltimore area that fight hunger.

The new restaurant, located at 1265 E. Joppa Road, is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
