A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. (Updated 2:37 p.m.)—A Baltimore County police officer was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore following a crash on the Inner Loop of the Baltimore Beltway in Towson on Wednesday, police said. The inner loop was closed to traffic for much of the early afternoon. As of 2:30 p.m., all lanes have since been opened. Police responded at 11:54 a.m. to the crash near Providence Road. According to police, the officer was driving onto the beltway from Providence Road when his car was struck by a tractor-trailer, crossed all lanes and hit the jersey wall. The three-car crash happened around noon between the Providence Road and Loch Raven Boulevard exits. The officer had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to the hospital via Medevac, according to county police spokeswoman Detective Cathleen Batton. The officer is listed in stable condition. Police said in a statement that his injuries were not life-threatening. Two other patients in a third vehicle, a Jeep, were taken by ambulance to Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two people in the tractor-trailer were not injured.
