Police To Post Blotter Online
The weekly crime roundup will be posted on the precinct's website, starting this week.
In an effort to streamline communication, Baltimore County police are changing how they get crime information to residents.
In an email to community leaders on Monday, community outreach Sgt. Stephen Fink said the precinct's crime reports and announcements will be posted on the precinct's website from now on. Weekly emails from Fink that included a chart of the major crimes will be discontinued.
"Each Precinct in Baltimore County will have their crime reports, current events and public affairs issues posted on their own web site after review by the Media Relations Section thus ensuring that the proper information is distributed in a uniform fashion throughout the County," Fink wrote in the e-mail.

The new format on the precinct's website is succinct and easier to read than the chart that Fink sent out. The entries are formatted much like .
Last month, the department amid concerns that some information was being distributed that could compromise certain investigations. A department spokeswoman said at the time police were looking into other methods to expand communication with the public.
