Police: Towson University Shooting Report False

Towson University police said an unverified report of an on-campus shooting Friday is believed to be false.

The campus Facebook and Twitter account initially urged school community members to take shelter. But police have since advised that normal activities can be resumed. The university also sent similar text messages to students and faculty.

The report is under investigation, police said.
