Power of the Purse Program Wins National Award
The Baltimore County Commission for Women initiated the program to help Samaritan Women's Restoration Home.

The Baltimore County Women’s Commission won national recognition for its Power of the Purse campaign aimed at helping the victims of human trafficking.
The National Association of Commissions for Women announced the program received an achievement award, according to a news release from the county.
The program involved collecting gently used purses that were then sold and the proceeds given to The Samaritan Women's Restoration Home, which helps victims of human trafficking.
