A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. For more than 60 years, the Providence Volunteer Fire Company has spread Christmas joy by taking Santa around Towson on a fire truck. Now, the fire company wants to extend the cheer to New Jersey communities ravaged by Superstorm Sandy. The company is asking Towson residents to donate lightly used or new toys and clothing for Sandy relief to their station, at 1416 Providence Road, until Dec. 15, according to an email from Garrett Zour, a 45-year member of the fire company. The items can be placed in containers located in the rear of the station. The donations will be delivered to the New Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association the week of Dec. 17 to distribute to families in need, according to the email. Those wishing to donate money can send a check, made out to Providence Volunteer Fire Company with 'Sandy Fund' written in the memo section. Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 9702 Towson, MD 21284. Zour said the funds will be used to purchase additional toys and clothes.
