A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. (Update 5:13 p.m.)—Two Towson businesses are appearing before the <a href="http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/liquorboard/2012hearings/lbhr102912.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Baltimore County Liquor Board </a>to fight for their liquor licenses. Recher Theatre and French Press Cafe will have to answer for alleged noise violations. The businesses risk the loss or suspension of their licenses. Both businesses were scheduled for hearings on Monday, but county officials <a href="http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/liquorboard/2012hearings/lbhr102912.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">postponed the appearances</a> to a later date due to the pending storm and anticipated power outages. Recher garnered media attention when fights broke out among a crowd of approximately 2,500 people outside the building in September. A 20-year-old man was shot in connection with the incident, Baltimore County police said. Seven men were arrested for their alleged roles in the fights. Prior to the melee, problems were few at the venue.
