A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. The Baltimore County Liquor Board hearing for Recher Theatre has been rescheduled for Nov. 19. The Towson business was initially slated for a hearing on Monday, but county officials canceled it due to the threat of superstorm Sandy. Recher caught the local media spotlight in September after fights broke out among a crowd of approximately 2,500 people outside the building. Seven men were arrested for their roles in the fights. The venue faces the loss of its liquor license, and management must answer for alleged noise violations. The hearing is set to start at 11:05 a.m., in room 104 of the Jefferson Building, located at 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue. The hearing was initially scheduled to start at 2:05 p.m., but was changed due to a scheduling conflict, according to an email from Ellen Kobler, a county spokeswoman.
