A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A Towson eatery has shuttered its doors after a long history in Towson. After nearly 80 years, Ridgely &amp; Ferrens Market went out of business last week, said Nancy Hafford, executive director of the Towson Chamber of Commerce. The most recent owner, Hafey Hyle, had operated the casual restaurant, which was known for its sandwiches, for about 15 years. "Hafey was a wonderful part of the community," Hafford said. New business owners are planning to open a country style restaurant at the storefront, located at 11 Allegheny Avenue. The reason for the closure is not immediately known. In September, Gourmet Express, a nearby cafe and deli in the 400 block of Washington Avenue, also shut down.
