Sen. Cardin Endorses Brown for Governor
Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown continues to gain backing from his party's leadership.

State Democratic Party leadership continues to voice its backing for Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown’s bid to be Maryland next governor.
U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin announced his endorsement of Brown on Monday.
"Anthony Brown has been a strong and dynamic leader for Marylanders and an effective partner to those of us in Congress—he’s the best choice for Maryland’s next governor and has my full support," Cardin said in a news release.

Gov. Martin O’Malley, Sen. Barbara Mikulski, Rep. Steny Hoyer, Rep Elijah Cummings, Rep. Donna Edwards, Rep. John Sarbanes, State Senate President Thomas V. “Mike” Miller, Jr., State House Speaker Michael E. Busch, former attorneys general J. Joseph Curran, Jr. and Steve Sachs have all endorsed Brown.
He is currently running for the Democratic nomination against Attorney General Doug Gansler and Del. Heather Mizeur.

The gubernatorial primary election is scheduled for June 24, 2014.
