SHA: Partial Charles Street Closure Begins April 2
Planned eight-week closure is part of the reconstruction of a bridge over the Baltimore Beltway.

State highway contractors will temporarily close the right lane of northbound North Charles Street, between the Joppa Road overpass and Kenilworth Drive starting April 2, state highway officials stated in a press release Monday.
The closure will continue for about eight weeks through early June, as crews widen the northbound approach to the intersection. The work is part of the $38 million multi-year reconstruction work on the Charles Street bridge over the Baltimore Beltway.
The closure is set to begin at 9 a.m. next Monday. If you're headed to the Beltway from Towson, consider using York Road as a possible detour, especially during rush hour.
