The annual Towsontown Spring Festival opened Saturday, welcoming food, music, games and vendors to Towson's core.

The festival is expected to being hundreds of thousands to downtown Towson. New additions for 2013 include rides in the children's area and free admission to all concert areas.

The festival, organized by the Towson Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to run through 7 p.m. Saturday, and will pick up again from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
