A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. No one was reported injured as fire crews responded to an early-afternoon fire Monday in West Towson. The one-alarm blaze in the 400 block of West Joppa Road, at the corner of Morningside Drive was reported at approximately 1 p.m., and under control by 1:40 p.m. Four engines, including rews from Towson and Texas fire stations and Providence and Lutherville volunteer fire companies, responded. The three-floor building includes several apartments, and the fire involved an annex on the lower level. County fire crews requested the assistance of the Red Cross for three adults and three children who were displaced, fire department spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher said. As of 1:45 p.m., West Joppa Road was blocked between Bosley Avenue and just past Morningside Drive. A fire department spokeswoman said it was unclear at this time how the fire began. The home is a rental property. The owner was not present, but some of the tenants were. "At first it was like a little bit of smoke, then it was like a little more, a little more, a little more," said Roy Nickols, who was there to pick up his sister and arrived shortly before the fire trucks came to the scene.
