3 Surfers Found Dead In Mexican Well Included Stevenson University Grad: Reports
A former Stevenson University lacrosse player was found dead in a Mexican well, reports said. He was remembered as "everyone's best friend."

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Reports said three bodies recovered Friday from a 50-foot well in Mexico's Baja California have been identified as a San Diego man and two brothers from Australia, one of whom graduated from Stevenson University in Owings Mills. The trio are believed to have been killed by thieves who wanted their truck tires.
The remains are those of Jack Carter Rhoad of San Diego and Jake and Callum Robinson of Australia, Attorney General Maria Elena Andrade Ramírez confirmed Sunday evening, according to Border Report. Their bodies were in an “advanced state of decomposition,” according to Border Report.
Callum Robinson played men's lacrosse for Stevenson University from 2013 to 2015. The defenseman helped the Mustangs win the NCAA Division III men's lacrosse national championship in 2013.

"He lived an extraordinary life, but what is most impressive about Callum is what a loyal friend he was. Once you were his friend, you were friends for life," Cantabene said in a press release. "Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Robinson family. We thank you for being such tremendous people and sharing your son with us."
Callum Robinson also made a lasting impression off the field.
Ellen Roskes, dean of Stevenson's Fine School of the Sciences, taught him organic chemistry and served as his academic advisor. Roskes described Callum Robinson as a "caring, compassionate individual" who was "bright, athletic, and motivated."
"Upon his graduation, Callum gave me a boomerang, which has been hanging in my office at Stevenson ever since. It brings me great memories of Callum," Roskes said in the release. "He will be remembered by many people in our Stevenson community, and our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to his parents, his friends, and his teammates."

The Robinson brothers and Rhoad had been camping and surfing along the coast south of Ensenada before they disappeared last weekend, the Associated Press reported. They are believed to have resisted robbers and been shot, killed and dumped in the well, according to Border Report.
Prosecutors were questioning three people in connection with the case, the Associated Press reported, one of whom — identified by his first name, Jesús Gerardo — is thought to have participated in the killings and has a criminal record.
The well also contained a fourth body that had been there far longer, according to the Associated Press.
