Towson Chamber Announces 2012 Towsontown Spring Festival

The chamber is planning several events, between May 3 and May 6, around the annual tradition.

On Tuesday, the announced plans for the 45th annual street festival, part of four days of events which the chamber expects to attract more than 250,000 people to downtown Towson.

The festival will be held Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, May 6, from 1 to 7 p.m. It festival features food, music, games, crafts and vendors from across the mid-Atlantic.

This year's festival will feature returning favorites, like the petting zoo, antique cars, multiple performance stages, a singing contest and plenty of family-friendly activities.

Also returning is . The smaller affair, to be held this year on Thursday, May 3, features plants, crafts, food, drinks and music in and around the gardens at the historic county courthouse, along with a tour of the gardens led by landscape architects Carol Oppenheimer and Avery Harden. This year's Gardens Day will also feature a performance by the Jimmy Buffett and Beach Boys tribute band Beach Bumz. All events are free.

On Friday, May 4 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., the chamber will also host a free concert featuring Severna Park funk band Uncle Jack.
