Towson Crime: Man Carjacked on Charles Street

Woodbrook

North Charles Street and Stevenson Lane. 3:15 p.m. Feb. 21. A driver was stopped at the traffic signal when a man knocked on the driver's side window with the butt of a gun. The man ordered the driver out of the car then drove the victim's car northbound on North Charles Street. The man walked to his Maryland Avenue home in Baltimore and reported the incident to police at 9 p.m.

West Towson

West Chesapeake Avenue, 600 block. Between 11:45 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. Feb. 21. A home was ransacked and a silverware set, valued in an incident report at $51,000, and coins, valued at approximately $50, were reported stolen.

Mount Washington

Falls Road, 6000 block. 11:10 p.m. Feb. 22. A man entered the Royal Farms store, showed a gun and emptied the cash register. He stole an unspecified amount of cash, Newport cigarettes and cigars. He fled south in a green van.

Hillendale

Hillsway Avenue, 7800 block. Between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Feb. 22. At the Hillendale Child Development Center, a white 1998 Ford E350 van, with Maryland tag 36668M9, was reported stolen. The same van was stolen on Feb. 18 and recovered the same day.

Idlewylde

Regester Avenue, 1400 block. At Regester Tire, someone broke a window and entered the business. The burglar took the keys to a car and drove it off the front parking lot.
