A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. You know that feeling from when you were little, when you open up a birthday card and find out you're going to your favorite water park? Now imagine if you got that feeling on video. One Towson family did, and won big. The McFadden family won for a video (attached to this story) of their daughter opening up an early birthday present—a card telling her they were taking her to <a href="http://www.greatwolf.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Great Wolf Lodge</a>. They entered the video into the Spring Surprises Video Contest, run by the national chain of indoor water parks, and won a two-night stay with the chain. Great Wolf Lodge operates 11 locations nationwide, including in Williamsburg, VA and the Pocono Mountains, PA. "We are so excited," said mom, Debbie McFadden, in a press release. "We thought our daughter's reaction was priceless—and we're thrilled the public agrees. Great Wolf Lodge has always been a family favorite and we can't wait to go back!"
