Fundraising challenges and uncertainty over public health prompted the cancellation in 2021 of the fireworks, although Towson still hosted its Fourth of July Parade. In 2020, the fireworks were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which also resulted in most events being canceled.
For 2022, the parade and other Fourth of July festivities in Towson will be on Monday, July 4.
