Towson Girl Starring In Broadway Musical, Will Play Hometown Shows
A Towson girl is starring as "Annie" in the touring Broadway musical. The 12-year-old will play hometown shows this week in Baltimore.
TOWSON, MD — Towson native Hazel Vogel is starring in the touring Broadway musical "Annie," WMAR reported.
Vogel, who plays Annie, will perform several hometown shows this week. "Annie" will hit the stage at Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre Tuesday through Sunday. Tickets are available here.
"We're also thrilled to celebrate that Hazel Vogel, a Baltimore native, is starring as Annie in this production. It's an incredible honor to showcase local talent on our stage, and we know you'll be amazed by her exceptional performance," the digital playbill said.

WMAR said Vogel previously played young Cosette in the "Les Misérables" U.S. Tour two years ago. She also performed in "Newsies" for STAGES St. Louis and "Miracle on 34th Street" for Toby's.
WMAR said Vogel, a sixth-grader at Baltimore's Bryn Mawr School, loves the message of "Annie."

"The sun will come out tomorrow," she told WMAR. "Always be more optimistic and keep thinking you gotta keep pushing through, 'cause Annie's been through all these hard things in her life. But she still keeps saying it doesn't matter what happens today."
