Towson Hosting Food Truck Gathering For Superstorm Sandy Relief

Donations for those impacted in New Jersey will be collected during the event.

A popular Baltimore event is coming to Towson—and for a good cause.

On Saturday, The Gathering, a congregation of Baltimore area food trucks, is coming to the 400 block of Washington Avenue in an effort to collect donations for New Jersey residents suffering from the effects of Superstorm Sandy. The event will run from 1 to 5 p.m.

Damian Bohager, a representative of the Maryland Mobile Food Vendors Association who is organizing the event alongside the Towson Chamber of Commerce, said 12 or 13 food trucks will be participating. The donations will be loaded into a truck, located on site, that will travel to two firehouses near the New Jersey seaside.

"All of The Gathering events raise money for charity," Bohager said. "What's great about what we're doing in Towson is that the donations are going straight to the people who need it."

The event will also include live music, and a beer and wine truck.
