Towson Row Development Prompts York Road Closure

Construction work will take place overnight this week in Towson, leading to a detour on York Road.

TOWSON, MD — A major detour will be in effect from Monday to Thursday in Towson, according to officials. The closure involves York Road, where the Towson Row development is underway.

To allow for construction, York Road will be closed between Towsontown Boulevard and Chesapeake Avenue, the Maryland State Highway Administration reported.

The closure will take place overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Officials say the work should be complete by 5 a.m. Thursday.

During the closure of York Road, traffic downtown will be detoured on Chesapeake Avenue to Virginia Avenue to Towsontown Boulevard to Washington Avenue.

Through travelers are encouraged to use the Towson Bypass — West Burke Avenue and Bosley Avenue.
