‘Unacceptable Behavior’ At Towson Town Center Sparks Warning, 3 Arrests: Reports

TOWSON, MD — Three juveniles were arrested Saturday evening at the Towson Town Center shopping mall, police said.

The situation drew a warning from Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, who condemned the behavior.

"Our message is to everyone, adults and children, you are welcome here, but we have expectations of appropriate behavior," Olszewski told WJZ, saying "It's unfortunate, it's inappropriate and unacceptable behavior."

WJZ reported that the three charged girls are:

• A 13-year-old charged with disorderly conduct
• A 13-year-old charged with trespassing
• A 15-year-old charged with malicious destruction of property

The Baltimore County Police Department said it was first called to the mall Saturday at 6:03 p.m. to investigate a report of destruction of property.

Officers said they arrested one minor during this call.

Authorities stayed on the scene into the night, maintaining high visibility.

Police said they got "calls reporting juveniles fighting, congregating, and being disorderly."

Officers said they arrested two juveniles in this encounter.

Authorities said they also got a call at 11:17 p.m. reporting a personal robbery that happened at 9:30 p.m. near York Road and Pennsylvania Avenue. The victim didn't need medical attention.

Police don't know if this robbery is related to the previous calls in the mall.

"We continue to work with the Towson Chamber of Commerce and Mall management, along with other stakeholders in Towson, to make sure that we monitor the situation in Towson as it relates to juveniles and these meet-ups that they conduct," Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough told WJZ.
