Towson U. Provost a Finalist for Two Presidencies

Marcia Welsh, provost and briefly its interim president, is a finalist for two university presidencies, according to news reports.
Welsh is one of three candidates for an opening at East Stroudsburg University and one of four finalists at the University of Indianapolis.

According to the Pocono Record, the candidates for East Stroudsburg (located in northeastern Pennsylvania) recently visited the campus for meetings with faculty and staff.
According to an Indianapolis press release, Welsh and the other three finalists for that position will travel there later this month to meet with faculty and staff.

Welsh came to Towson as provost in 2009 from Adelphi University. When then-President Robert Caret to take the presidency at the University of Massachusetts, Welsh .
During her time at the helm, she attempted to improve community relations—for example, by inviting community leaders to football games.
