Trash Truck Flips On I-83; One Hospitalized: Officials

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — One person was hospitalized after a trash truck overturned on Interstate 83 north on Wednesday morning, according to authorities. It tangled traffic for hours.

The crash happened near the exit for Ruxton Road after 8:30 a.m., officials said.

All lanes were closed on I-83 north in the area around 9 a.m. as hazardous materials personnel worked on cleanup, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The driver of the trash truck was taken to a local hospital, officials reported.

People were advised to expect major delays due to the crash.

As of 11 a.m., all lanes remained closed on I-83 north at Ruxton Road, except for the left lane.
