West Towson residents would like their sign back.
The wooden neighborhood sign at Allegheny and Central avenues went missing sometime between Sunday morning and Monday night.
The sign is one of three in the neighborhood. The others are located along West Joppa Road and at the intersection of Chesapeake and Charles Street avenues.

Josh Glikin, a neighborhood board member, said the signs cost $800 to $900 each to produce and were installed about five years ago.
"They're nice signs, they're locally-created, made out of wood and painted, so it's a shame that somebody would think it's a good idea to go and take some sort of sign from a neighborhood for a prank or kicks or they just think it's funny," Glikin said.

The signs have been the occasional targets of vandalism. The original Chesapeake Avenue sign went missing not long after the signs were installed and was never found. The Joppa Road sign went missing one spring weekend and was found months later by a resident on a hill above apartments.
Glikin said residents are filing reports with and police departments. If you have any information about the incident, call the Towson precinct at 410-887-3143.
