Visions for Vacancies: Car Wash to Become Patient First Clinic (Updated)
This car wash on York Road that closed several years ago has fallen into disrepair.

Update (11:34 a.m.)—Reader Paul Hartman in Aigburth Manor set us straight, pointing to a development review hearing that took place yesterday. The space is slated to become a 7,000-square-foot Patient First clinic.
County Councilman David Marks said he's been working with the developers and the school system to allay concerns with the new Carver Center under construction just next door. Here's what he said in an email to Patch:

Our office has been working on this project for the past six months. It is a tricky location because of its proximity to both the old and new Carver High School buildings, so there are discussions underway between the school system and the developer. I fully support the redevelopment of this site, and I have personally spoken to Dr. Hairston about the importance of this project.
It will continue the revitalization of the York Road corridor in northern Towson and clean up an important community gateway. The construction and operation of the Patient First will lead to dozens of new jobs, as well as the type of health care facility that is lacking in Towson right now. We have hospitals that specialize in long-term care, but not a Patient First.
