A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. In observance of Presidents Day, many county agencies will be closed Monday. Courts, government offices, schools, health department clinics, libraries and senior centers will be closed. CountyRide vans will not be running. The <a href="http://mta.maryland.gov" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Maryland Transportation Administration's</a> local bus, light rail and subway services will run on their regular weekday schedule, but MARC train and commuter buses will be out of service.  Trash and recycling will be picked up on their regular schedule. Drop-off facilities, including the Resource Recovery Center on Warren Road in Cockeysville, will be open. How are you spending Presidents Day? Tell us in the comments.
