Where to Toss the Christmas Tree?

The county offers various locations for residents to recycle their trees.

Once you've finished celebrating Christmas, attention will certainly turn to cleaning up.

County offices, including the recycling centers, are closed on Monday. But starting Tuesday, Dec. 27, you can take your Christmas tree to the Baltimore County Resource Recovery Center on Warren Road in Cockeysville from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. any day except Sunday.

From Jan. 9 through 14, county trash and recycling collectors will pick up trees left on the front curb or street. The county asks residents not to leave trees in alleys.

Remember, if you're leaving the tree for pick-up or dropping it off in Cockeysville, that the county can only take the tree. The county will not recycle stands, lights or decorations with it.

Who knows? This winter's Christmas tree might become your mulch next spring.
