School Activities Canceled; Winter Weather Advisory In Effect
Forecasts call for light snow later today in the Baltimore area.

Update (2:04 p.m.)—All after-school and evening activities are canceled.
If the conditions are right, we may see snow in Towson today. Really.
The area is under a winter weather advisory until 10 p.m. Wednesday. Accuweather calls for a wintry mix of rain and possibly snow today, then snow in the evening tonight. Today's high will only get up to 42 degrees. The low will drop to 28.

Forecaster Justin Berk, who last week proclaimed that he had "," has some faith in his forecast this week, too. On Tuesday night, Berk posted a map on Twitter that calls for an inch or more in Towson and much of the Baltimore area, and 2-3 inches in points north, including Timonium and Cockeysville.
This isn't the start of something big, however. No other systems are headed for the region and Accuweather predicts mostly sun for the rest of the week.

In a statement, the State Highway Administration said state roads have been pre-treated with a salt brine solution, and advised drivers to use caution on the roads.
